This book basically combines the two Wiccan classics The Witches’ Way and Eight Sabbats for Witches.
The book is divided into two sections. The first details the ceremonies and history of the eight Wiccan Sabbats. The authors show how these are practiced in their own coven. Much of the material is their own material, based on their own discoveries through practice and research, although they still include information from Gerald Gardner’s Book of Shadows.
In section two the authors delve into their Book of Shadows to reveal magickal workings such as the Wiccan initiation rituals and other important practices of the Craft. They have provided plenty of useful and practical suggestions and advice on topics such as healing, astral projection and divination.
This book is aimed at Wiccans looking at group practice, and either already in a coven or planning to join one. It is also invaluable to anyone wishing to begin running their own coven. Solitary practitioners can benefit from the advice and information but may find Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner, by Scott Cunningham, to be more practical for individual use.
In more advanced aspects of this book there is information on the Goddess in her dark aspect (the wanning moon / the crone). This sets it apart from much of fluff and recycled spell books passed off as Wiccan practices. It focuses on the higher ethics of witchcraft, setting it aside from the petty spells to revenge ex-lovers.
Some Wiccans consider this book to be the best one ever printed on practices and beliefs of the Wiccan craft.
